Spring break 2011

Ok so for current events class we have to write 18 blog posts. So here we go..... Number 1

We were on spring break last week and I have been pretty busy. I gotout of school after first period on Thursday and then my family and I drove to Rodchester NY. My brother is going to collage at RIT next year so we went for orientation, so I got dragged along too. I was so bored when we were there because all I did was sat in the hotel and walked around with then which was boring too. My mom kept starting how quiet it was there, but she went to OU so of course it is quieter there. I am ok with my brother going to collage. I think it will be good for him.

We came home on Saturday and didn't get home till late. On Sunday my dad took me to the barn and I rode. That is really all we did on Sunday. My mom got sick so she didn't go to work on Monday and we just layer around that day. Then on Tuesday she was feeling a but betters we went to the. Barn for a little while. Then when we got home I started to pack and get ready for equine affair. I was doing a demo with the 23 yea old standardbred. Wednesday night my dad took me to the barn to volunteer for the therapeutic riding group. On Thursday my mom took me to the barn again to groom trobby for the following day. We bathed, clipped and packed everything up.

My dad had work so my mom and I met George at equine affair with the horse in the morning. At 12:45 I was doing a youth talk with Trobby about the breed. I was really nervous but did good I think. I rode her later in the day and she really didn't like the intact horses in the arena. We weren't going to be able to get anything done so we just left the arena. She was better the next day. In the morning she was in the petting stall and was really good about that and then sneeze good for the demo later in the day too. She was really good for not ever being in that arena until the demo. On Sunday we got to equine affair at 6:30 in the morning and took her it the coliseum sender that is a scarier arena. She wasn't so sure about it. Afte that I took her in the practice arena and rode her. Then later in the day we had the doom and she was perfect in the arena. After the demo we left the Ohio state fair grounds and dropped her off at the barn. Then went home and took a shower, did a few things and went to bed.

Monday was hell just because I was so tired, but overall it was a great spring break.

Here is a video of one of the demos. I am the one after the horse that jumps.
