Just rambling on

This past weekend we took stormy, the horse who I jump with, to my lesson barn for the show season. We got stormy to the barn and then had a lesson. In. The lesson he was a little more forward than we wanted him to be, but he was good. This past winter we had been working on getting our lead changes and got some very nice ones in our lesson.

We have a horse show this weekend at the Delaware fair grounds. The sad this is that fair grounds is drenched from all the rain and they also just got new footing for the arenas. When they get new footing it isn't always good footing so my trainer is going to see how the footing is and see if it is safe. Also in ring 1 there is a sink hole and that is where the other lady was going to show, so if they don't get that fixed by Friday they are having ring 1 in the jumper ring. If this happens the other lady showing this weekend will not be going because her horse used to be a jumper and they will most likley have the jumper jumps up and that horse won't be able to go then because he will get to excited and won't go slow. I am hoping they will get all of this fixed by tomorrow so we can go this weekend.

The World Ending?!?... O...K..

So today is May 21, 2011 OH NO THE WORLD IS GOING TO END!! ya right this is a bunch of crap! why do people have to say that the world id going to end every six months.  It is kinda getting annoying, can't people just live and no keep making up these stupid things.  I know that a man was doing all of these calculations a bunch of years ago, but how would he or anyone no when the world is going to end.  This just drives me nuts how stupid people can be.  I'm not necessarily calling the man who did the calculations and came up with this stupid, but I am calling the people who actually believe this crap stupid.  Hey at least the man did calculations and wasn't just like " I AM GOD AND THE WORLD IS GOING TO END (choses eyes and points to random day) THEN AT 6.. UM P.M!"  I'm having trouble looking at this from others point of view right now......BECAUSE IT IS MAY 21 AND IT IS 7:07 P.M

To Kill a Mockingbird 2

*** if you are reading this book I give away the ending***

I just finished reading the book "To kill a mockingbird" yesterday and really enjoyed the book.  I liked the way the book ended.  The end of this book doesn't just drop you off at are really good spot like some other books do in my opinion.  It makes me happy that Scout finally met Boo Radly.  It really finished off the book well sense they didn't really talk about him after the first part of the book.  I didn't think that Mr. Ewell was going to try and kill the kids and himself.   I thought he would try and do something to Atticus but not the kids.  The was so nice of Boo to help and get the kids out of a bad situation sense he has been watching them play out side and things ( I think he was).  I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a good book.  I think this book is for an older or more advanced reader just because of the big vocabulary in the book.  The one thing about this book that I didn't like is how slow it started, it really made it hard to keep reading this book but after the first 3 or so chapters it gets better.  One day while reading this book I got on "youtube" to look for it on audio.  This really help me while reading the book, so I could just read along.
Here is the link for chapter 1 :)

Enjoy if you have never read this book ... or have!

Sick

So I'm not really sure what to write about. Nothing to interesting has been going on latly. I have been sick two times this month!! I was sick about two weeks ago and I got sick this past weekend again. I am so sick of being sick!! Sence I have been sick I haven't been doing of anything lately. So I'm not really sure what else to write about. I just notched that I say/write so a lot. I was at the barn last night a and there was a baby bird in one of the horses stalls. It was so cute. I forget what kind of bird it was but it had white on it's wings and that kind of bird usually doesn't have any white on their wings. The baby birds are starting to jump out of their nest learning how to fly. So there are quite a few babies in stalls and waddiling in the aile. I haven't see any dead ones. The white wings one was in a stall where a horse was ging so I got a bucket and put in the bucket for a while till the horse went back out side. That bird is going to be so used to people when it gets older because we had to move the bird yesterday and the day before.

Do you know Grace Sheffer??

For current evens class we had to interview someone and I got to interview Grace. I first asked her, What current event have you heard of recently? Grace said she has recently heard about Libya and the death of Osama Bin Ladin.I also asked her who inspired her. And she said her sister inspires her and artistically Vango inspires her. In her free time Grace likes to paint and read. Her favorite book is "I am the Messenger". Some of her other interests are fashion and science. Gray, green, and purple are a few of her favorite colors.

I also asked Grace a series of questions about linworth. She likes linworth because the people are laid back and the teachers are not intimidation. Her all-time favorite class was "play writing" with Chris. "Peace" with Rick is her favorite class that she has taken this year. For Walk about Grace wants to work with her aunt doing creative writing for the first part and wants to go to Ireland doing something english centered for her second one. I also asked her what advice does she have for incoming freshmen she said don't take advantage of linworth, Do your community service hours, do what you are supposed to do and be organized. Something that most people don't know about Grace is that she is very self-conscious and she doesn't like change.

The Dream Act

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/05/11/6624870-senate-dems-re-introduce-dream-act-

I just read this article about the dream act.  I can see why people want this bill to pass because it could be a good thing so that immigrants aren't coming here and the government has to support them.  Another good this is we would have more people in the army and more educated people.  On the other hand I think this would also be a bad thing because the U.S. is already over populated and we already have a shortage of job so why would we want to bring in more people for the few jobs we have???  I know either way that this bill goes that there will always be downs, so I am not for or against this bill.

To Kill a Mockingbird

I am currently reading " To Kill a Mockingbird" in my English class and really enjoying the book. I am now on chapter 14. My favorit caracter in the book would have to be Boo Radly and Scout. I like Boo in this book because it is cool hearing what all the nabors think about him. I also like the way he is described to be even though know one really knows what he looks like. I also love Scout as a character. When reading I always keep thinking she is older than six because of her wide range of vocabulary. I like that she is not like the other girls in town, she is always exploring and getting into fights. Now that their Aunt is going to be staying with them for a while I think that scout will get really upset with her Aunt. I thinker Aunt will keep telling her she isnt acting like a lady and she needs to start. The one thing that disappoints me about this book is they have just dropped Boo Radly. They haven't said anything else about him and it is starting to eratate me. I know the author has a reason for this but it is still really annoying me.

Osama Bin Laden

As everyone knows by know Osama is dead. He was assasined by the U.S. I didn't hear about this until Monday morning when my mom was driving me to school. I am glad that he is dead because he has killed so many people. I don't thing the death of someone is something to cheat about though. Even though he had done a lot of bad things, he is still a person and I don't that anyone should be cheering about anyones death. I'm so happy that they barrier him according to his religion. Jalap hope that they don't show any pictured or video of him being killed. That is no right. Why do Americans always have to have proof? It is stupid they have DNA and other things. We don't need to be showing pictures as proof. That is just rediculus!! I think that even though Osama was killed that doesn't mean that this is the end of terrorist attacks. I bet there will be a major terrorist attack this weekend to show they are still out there and that they are really pissed at the United Stated.

Horse show

This past weekend I was showing at the Franklin county fair grounds with three horses. It was a lot of fun and all of the horses did really well. One of the bests part of the show was when I walked barrels with sirocco. Barrels are a speed compititions. Even though I just walked the barrels it was great because this was only the horses 3rd show. My goal was to just get her in the arena the night we got there. We did two runs of the barrels. The first one we did and didn't get around the last barrel because the horses started acting up a bit. Then the second time we got around all of the barrels and even went a bit faster!! Another great part of the show was when my mom showed sirocco in halted. I as really surprised how well they did. She was in some classes with 10 to 15 people and she got a few seconds. This was only my moms third show that she showed in too.

The other horses did really well too. Stormy and I did some of the jumping classes and won!! The class was judged on the horses movement. In the beginning of the day Stormy was acting kinda stupid but one argot going he was good. I also rode Trobby. Wow she was pretty up and ready to go. It was really fun when I went in the outdoor arena to warm her up. We went To canter and she started jumping around bucking and crow hopping. Even though she wasn't being that good it was really funny.

Over all the show went really well and I can't wait for the next one!

Rob Bell

According to " Times " magazine Rob Bell is on the top 100 most inspirational people of 2010. Rob is the founder of " Mars Hills Bible" church, in Michigan, and has written a top seller book " love wins". At his church he tends to have a lot of younger people. Rob has also done a small series of films called NOOMA.I think this guy sounds cool and he should be one of the top 100 people on this list. He has done a lot this past year.

Gabriel Giffords

According to "Times" magazine Gabriel Giffords is one of the top 100 most inspirational person of 2010. Gabriel was a congress woman who was doing a speech in Tucson, Arizona when she was shot on the head. She was rushed to the hospital. This all happened in January, she is still recovering today. She is also the 3rd woman to be elected in Arizona to the U.S Congress

I don't really understand why she is concitered " inspirational ". The magazines doesn't really say anything except for that she was shot. I understand that she is having a fast recovery buti think these things are sadly happening everyday. So does that mean that if I got shot in the head I would be on this list. I think it is cool that she was the3 rd woman to be a U.S Congress woman but I don't think she should be on this list.

Barn update

So I went to the barn Saturday like I said I was going to do in my last blog. I went to the barn and rode two other horses and then rode sirocco ( the green 7year old STB ). I was planing on riding her for an hour just walking around and over different obsticals. I got her in the arena and didn't let her walk or look at any of the obsticals before getting on. After I got on her we started walking around not over any obsticals and she was doing really well. She was calm, listening to the hackamore, and wasn't playing with her tonge. They I started going over some of the obsticals. First we weaves some cones, and she did really well, I could feel her hind end really being engaged. After we did the cones a few time we walked over a tarp. Horses are naturally very scared of tarps but I have worked with sirocco and the tarp this past summer and she was good. We were approaching the tarp and she looked at it but kept walking and walked right over it. Next we walked through an "L" shaped line of ground poles, over some flowers, and over a bridge. I was so pround of her! She didn't stop at any of the obsticals. Then it started to rain and it was really loud on the metle roof. She is not used to the loud noise and shorted to get a little anise. I just sat on her until she quieted back down and then I dismounted. She did really well and I think this hackamore is going to work really well for her.

The barn

Last night I went to the barn with my mom and had a blast! First I rode a 7 year old standardbred mare that we got from new vocations a few years ago. When we got her she really didn't know how to anything. She was broke to ride but not really. So I tought her ground manners, to lunge, and then restarted her under saddle. Sence she was so green she would spook at everything so it took a long time to get her going well on the ground. Then I started riding her and she was always really nerves. Now she is still slightly spookie and nerves but doing a whole lot better.

So yesterday I got on her and hadn't been on her for a month or longer. I lunged her first then got on. For the whole time I have ever worked with her she always played with the bit. Yesterday I bridled her and got on and she was doing the same thing. So we hooked some other rains to the halter that we had under the bridle. I started riding with just her halter and she seemed so much more relaxed. Then we took of the bridle and halter and put on the hack-more ( a bittless bridle). She was pretty sensitive to it was was a lot calmer with it. So today when I'm done with this blog we are going to go to the barn and I am going to ride her in the hack-more. I hope she continues to do well in it.

Horse vocab :

Lunge- exercise a horse on a long rope so the horse circles around person at the walk, trot and canter.

Green- young inexperience horse.

Bridle- a head set that you ride in.

Rains- connected to the bridle. Rider holds to steer horse.

Halter- head set that horses wear when not being ridden.
** these are my definitions.

Blogger

Oh my goodness!! It is really staring to annoy me that it takes me literally five minutes to find my freaking home page so I can post a blog. Like really I don't think it would be hard for them to make the "dashboard" the home page after you log in. Is anyone else having trouble with this stupid thing??? I am fine posting blogs but not fine with trying to find the thingy where is say new post. I don't really think there is another side to this sense it is my problem. You would think after doing this for probably four weeks now that I would know how but... Nope I still don't. It had just really been annoying me and I couldn't think of anything else to write about Lolz.

I am also not sure if I am following people correctly. I will click on a blog and is says am friends with them but them on the home page thing when it shows all of the people I am following I don't see any of their blogs. The bloggers are blogging because when I go it there pages I see new blogs. This blogging website has just been annoying me a lot recently.

P.s I am very happy we have a 3 day weekend.

Kindergardener with a gun at school!!

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-naw-houston-school-shooting-20110420,0,3686141.story?track=rss&dlvrit=104530

What is this world coming to!!! I think this is just horrible and sad that a 6 year old brought a gun to school. The fact that the kid found, had, or bought a gun at that age is so sad. How did he get the gun? This also affected two other kids. I wonder how those two kids feel besides in pain from getting hurt. If this happened to me I would be very scared. I think I would wanna be home schooled from then on. I would alway be on my toes wondering if anyone had a gun. From the 6 year olds point he probably feels really bad and is going to have to live with this for the rest of his life. I would feel so bad if I were that kid. The parents also probably feel really bad and feel responsible for all of this (they should in my opinion).
This is all just so stupid.

Kangaroo video

So yesterday one of my friend showed me this awesome video http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?xl=xl_blazer&v=81szj1vpEu8 .

Isn't that just hilarious !! Ha ha ok well I thought it was really funny. I am not sure how I would feel if someone was slashing me with water or kicking me in the water while i was playing golf but it is funny to watch. I think the people in the video thought it was scary or very odd. I think in the end they thought it was funny though.

I also really like this one. I do not like the part when the bat goes up to the ATM though. Itisfunnybut I think that would be really scary because it is money and would think someone was robbing me. Besides that one think is a good one too. It is probaly a bit scarier than the kangaroo one because it is at night.

7 year old plastic surgery???

This is an article I just read about a seven year old getting plastic surgery because her ears were cuped. I do NOT think it is an ok at the age of seven to PREVENT bulling. Maybe kids need to be taught how to handle bulling and told that it is not ok to bully. The percent of younger kids getting plastic surgery has gone up 30%!! It's not bad to look different, people aren't all supposed to look the same. Yes I do understand that some kid that get plastic surgery for medical reasons. It really pissed me off that the doctor said that he didn't consider this a cosmetic prosider really?!?!?! The girl didn't have any hearing problems or anything with her ears so I think this was more of a looks thing and not medical.
I understand from the mother point of view, that she doesn't want her kid being bullied, I don't think anyone wants that for that kid. I just don't think this is a good message to other kids.

Spring break 2011

Ok so for current events class we have to write 18 blog posts. So here we go..... Number 1

We were on spring break last week and I have been pretty busy. I gotout of school after first period on Thursday and then my family and I drove to Rodchester NY. My brother is going to collage at RIT next year so we went for orientation, so I got dragged along too. I was so bored when we were there because all I did was sat in the hotel and walked around with then which was boring too. My mom kept starting how quiet it was there, but she went to OU so of course it is quieter there. I am ok with my brother going to collage. I think it will be good for him.

We came home on Saturday and didn't get home till late. On Sunday my dad took me to the barn and I rode. That is really all we did on Sunday. My mom got sick so she didn't go to work on Monday and we just layer around that day. Then on Tuesday she was feeling a but betters we went to the. Barn for a little while. Then when we got home I started to pack and get ready for equine affair. I was doing a demo with the 23 yea old standardbred. Wednesday night my dad took me to the barn to volunteer for the therapeutic riding group. On Thursday my mom took me to the barn again to groom trobby for the following day. We bathed, clipped and packed everything up.

My dad had work so my mom and I met George at equine affair with the horse in the morning. At 12:45 I was doing a youth talk with Trobby about the breed. I was really nervous but did good I think. I rode her later in the day and she really didn't like the intact horses in the arena. We weren't going to be able to get anything done so we just left the arena. She was better the next day. In the morning she was in the petting stall and was really good about that and then sneeze good for the demo later in the day too. She was really good for not ever being in that arena until the demo. On Sunday we got to equine affair at 6:30 in the morning and took her it the coliseum sender that is a scarier arena. She wasn't so sure about it. Afte that I took her in the practice arena and rode her. Then later in the day we had the doom and she was perfect in the arena. After the demo we left the Ohio state fair grounds and dropped her off at the barn. Then went home and took a shower, did a few things and went to bed.

Monday was hell just because I was so tired, but overall it was a great spring break.

Here is a video of one of the demos. I am the one after the horse that jumps.

Poverty

I think it is horrible that more than 25% of kids and families are in poverty and homeless.  I wonder why the number is so high?  I know there is a shortage of jobs, but really, I don't think there aren't that many jobs.  I understand that we are over populated but maybe we should do something about it. WE AREN'T BUNNIES, SO LETS NOT MATE LIKE THEM!!  I think for a few years people were so into materialistic things that we forgot what is really important.  In a way, I think it is also good because it might teach people that objects are not alway important.  I also think that being in poverty will make people more grateful for what they own.

Growing Organs?!?!?/ Justin Bieber Hair

I just read an article that was talking about growing organs! http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2011/03/big-idea/organ-regeneration-text

I think this is really cool and interesting that scientist are growing organs.  If I were in a place where I needed a new organ I think I would consider this option.  I think this will be very helpful for the 100,000 people waiting for an organ transplant.  I hope that if they figure out what to do and how to transplant a grown organ, that 18 people won't die everyday due to not getting a transplant.  Scientists can grow a bladder in 6 to 8 weeks, and are starting to grow more major organs.  In order to make sure the organs are working like they should, they are being tested on animals.  I do not like that they are testing on animals but understand they want to test on them before humans but I still don't think it is right.  I think they could find other ways to test new organs and other things on a human-like machine that some one would create.

Justin Bieber's hair sold for how much?!?
http://newsfeed.time.com/2011/03/02/justin-biebers-auctioned-hair-sells-for-over-40000-online/

I am glad that the $40,668 went to a animal rescue group and will really help out some great animals that might not have a chance if this money wasn't donated.  But really I think that is a lot of money for Justin's hair.  How much would people pay for a nail clipping if they paid that much for Justin's hair.  Boy charities might be getting a lot of money from this kid.
